One day, a boy came to his mother and had this to say:
"Draw me a cow. Please!"
The mother of this boy wasn't any ordinary mom. She was a queen! And the boy, of course, was a prince.
"Hmmm," the queen thought,"it would seem like I would know how to do everything. Fireworks for 3 days - easy! Ugh, who cares about fireworks! With a light lift of a finger... - There, I've just caused a war! Or, let's say, I want - and on an empty, smooth area a Castle will be built! Even with water pipe installed! But a cow - I can't draw it. I just don't have that talent! Maybe, I need to get a court painter to come!"
The queen took a quick glance over at her son, and fixed his evened out the ruffles on his collar. Then, gazed into the serious, gray eyes of the future king.
And then she understood it all: she'll have to draw. On her own!
The queen sighed and took out her pack of pink paper with an embroidered monogram on it. Next, she wet her gold feather pen in the the gold ink, and sketched out something that would remind you of a suitcase. Then, to the "suitcase" was attached thin stick-legs, and a broom-like tail.
Now all she had to do was illustrate the face. Can you picture a good view of a cow's face? But the queen surely did not visualize it at all! Not one bit! But she courageously shook off the extra ink of the feather pen, and started drawing out the face however she could: a dot, dot, then a coma... oh, and the ears, can't forget the ears! And the horns - it's a cow, isn't it.
The "suitcase" with a human face was happily waving its mini-broom in the air and chewing on a daisy. And smiling. And smile seemed to stretch up to its ears!
The queen looked at her drawing, shrugged, and then handed her creation for the boy to see. And the severe look of the son on his face soon brightened.
"Mama, mommy! What a wonderful cow! I wanted one exactly like this... a smiling cow - like that!
From all the excitement, the young prince jumped up and down on one leg, and then he even spinned around on his heel - since he was the only person who was allowed to turn his back to the queen!
The queen looked at him and thought, "Here he is, my boy. Future king - fair and generous!". Then she turned to look at her drawing again and started to brighten up: "No, not just generous... Growing up - he'll cancel the royal taxes, death penalties, let go the army... he'll break down the whole kingdom, to the evil grandmother! No, I need to be more careful with him...".
And she kissed the young prince in his little, freckled nose.
