King of the Animals
Once upon a time, all stuffed toys in a toy store decided to pick a king. Everyone agreed that the king should be a Lion. But which one? The thing was that they had three different stuffed lions: the first one was very big, the second had a very loud voice, and the third one was little and quiet.
- I think our king should be the Huge Lion! - said the ancient toy turtle who got shipped into the toy store a century ago.
- The swimming toys, the tin toys, and even the robot transformers will be afraid of our king!
That was how the Huge Lion became the king of all stuffed animals. He pushed off two elephants and three monkeys of the top shelf (the best shelf!), got on, and started ruling. The rest of the stuffed toys piled on the floor bowing to their new king thinking: "Wow! This is a real king!"
Then, all of a sudden their king got bought! The buyer's name was Senya. He was six years old, and he was really short. Senya would never see the Lion from the shop counter if the Lion had not climbed up that high and was not that big and so amazing.
- We lost our king! - said the ancient turtle. - But we don't have to be so sad! Life goes on. Let's have the Loud Lion be our new king!
Everyone agreed because they really wanted to have a king.
Loud Lion roared a mighty roar right away.
-R-r-r-r-o-o-o-o-a-a-a-a-r-r-r-r! - He roared so loud that not only all the stuffed toys got quiet, swimming toys, tin solders and robot transformers got quiet too. Even toy machine-guns stopped shooting, and tanks stopped buzzing. Two sales clerks fainted, and the big oak desk of the director of the store started to shake.
The stuffed toys looked at the Loud Lion thinking "This is a real king!"
At that same moment, Vasya entered the toy store. He had headphones in his ears, listening to the music from his player. But he immediately heard the lion because the roar was so loud. Vasya bought the Loud Lion right away. He loved everything loud.
Poor animals! They couldn't calm down from that horrible loss. A lot of them cried, even though wetness is bad for stuffed toys. At that moment the ancient turtle said:
- Don't cry, stuffed toys, we still have the third Lion. Even though he is small and quiet, he is still a Lion.
That's how Lion Little and Quiet became the king. He also was very humble. He never jumped out in front of elephants and hippopotamus. Customers never noticed him, while he ruled, ruled in the department of stuffed toys. He still rules there. Why do you think, the stuffed animals don't quarrel, don't fight, and don't start wars with the robots? Because they know: somewhere near is the King, inconspicuous and silent...
But if someone out of you, children, find a Lion Quiet and Little, and buy him, the Lion, honestly, will be very happy. Being a king is good, but being a favorite toy is better. Don't worry about the department of stuffed toys. It is heard that soon there will arrive a new batch of lions, seven or even eight!
