Однажды звери из отдела мягкой игрушки решили выбрать себе царя.
Все сразу согласились, что царем зверей должен быть Лев. Но какой? Дело в том, что в отделе было три льва: один – огромного роста, второй – с громким голосом и третий – маленький и тихий.
– Пусть нашим царем будет Лев Огромного Роста! – сказала древняя черепаха, которая появилась в отделе мягкой игрушки еще в прошлом веке. – Такого царя все будут бояться: и водоплавающие, и оловянные, и роботы-трансформеры!
Так царем мягких зверей стал Лев Огромного Роста. Он сразу спихнул двух слонов и трех обезьян с верхней полки (самой престижной), забрался на нее и воцарился во всем своем великолепии. Все остальные звери сбились в кучу на полу. Они склонились перед Львом и подумали: «Вот это настоящий царь!»
И вдруг царя купили! Покупателя звали Сеня. Ему было шесть лет, и он был очень маленького роста. Сеня никогда бы не увидел Льва из-за прилавка, если бы тот не забрался так высоко и не был такой большой и великолепный.
– Мы потеряли нашего царя! – сказала древняя черепаха. – Но не будем грустить! Жизнь продолжается! Пусть новым царем станет Лев с Громким Голосом!
Все сразу согласились, потому что очень хотели иметь царя.
Лев с Громким Голосом сразу зарычал очень громким голосом:
– Р-р-р-р-р-р-р-р-р-р-р-р-р-р! – Да так, что притихли не только все мягкие игрушки, но и водоплавающие, и оловянные солдатики, и роботы-трансформеры. Даже игрушечные автоматы перестали стрелять, а танки гудеть. Две продавщицы упали в обморок, а в кабинете директора задрожал большой дубовый стол.
Мягкие ирушки смотрели на Громкого Льва и думали: «Вот это настоящий царь!»
И в этот самый момент в детский Мир вошел Вася. У него в ушах были наушники от плейера. Но он сразу услышал Льва, ведь тот рычал так громко! Вася, конечно, его тут же купил. Он любил все громкое.
Бедные звери! Они долго не могли опомниться после такой ужасной потери. Многие плакали, а ведь влага очень вредна для здоровья мягких игрушек. И тогда древняя Черепаха сказала:
– Не плачьте, мягкие звери, ведь у нас есть еще третий Лев. И пусть он маленький и тихий, но все же он Лев.
Вот так царем зверей стал Лев Маленький и Тихий. Он был еще и очень скромный. Никогда не выскакивал вперед и не высовывался из-за спин слонов и бегемотов. Покупатели его не замечали, и он все царствовал, царствовал в отделе мягкой игрушки. Царствует он там и сейчас. А вы думаете, почему звери ведут себя хорошо, не ссорятся, не дерутся, не воюют с роботами? Потому что они знают: где-то рядом – царь, незаметный и тихий...
Но если кто-нибудь из вас, ребята, обнаружит в отделе мягкой игрушки Льва Маленького и Тихого, да еще купит его, то Лев, если честно, очень обрадуется. Царем, конечно быть хорошо, но любимой игрушкой все же лучше. А за отдел мягкой игрушки не беспокойтесь. По слухам, туда скоро должна поступить новая партия львов – целых семь штук, или даже восемь!
King of the animals

One time the animals from the plush toy section decided to choose a king. Everyone agreed right away, that the king should be the lion. But which one? The problem was, that there were three lions in the plush section. The first one was the tallest. The third one had the loudest voice. The third was quiet and small.
“Let the king be the lion who is the tallest” said an ancient turtle, who was in the plush toy section since the past era. “Everyone will be scared of him. The waterfowl, the tin, and the robot-transformers!”
So the king of soft animals became the tallest lion. He immediately shoved two elephants and three monkeys from the top shelf (the most prestigious), climbed on it and reigned in all its glory. All the other animals clustered on the floor. They bowed before the lion and thought "This is a real king!"
And suddenly the king was bought! The costumer’s name was Senya. He was 6 years old, and very short. Senya would never see the lion from behind the counter unless the lion wouldn’t climb up high and wouldn’t be so big and tall.
“We lost our king!” cried the ancient turtle. “But let’s not be sad! Life is going on! Let’s make the new king the lion with the loudest voice!”
Everyone agreed right away because they really wanted to have a king. “Grrrrrr!” the lion with the loudest voice roared immediately. Everyone got quiet, and not only in the plush toy section, but also the waterfowl, the tin soldiers, and robot-transformers. Even the toy machines stopped to shoot, and tanks to buzz. Two saleswomen fainted and in the manager’s office an oak table trembled.
The plush toys looked at the loud lion and thought “Well that’s a real king!”
Right at that moment Vasya walked into “Child’s World.” He had headphones in his ears from his player, but he still heard him because he roared to loud. Vasya of course, immediately bought him. He loved everything loud.
Poor animals! They couldn’t come to their senses after a long time because of such a loss. Most were crying, but moisture was bad for the health of the plush toys.
Then the ancient turtle said “Don’t cry plush toys, we have an another lion. The third one. And even if he is small and quiet, he is still a lion.”
That’s how the king become the smallest and the quietest lion. He was also very modest. He never jumped forward nor looked out from the back of the elephants and hippos. Customers didn’t notice him, and he kept on reining and reining in the plush toy section. He reigns there even now.
And you wonder, “Why do the animals have such good behaviors, aren’t quarreling, aren’t fighting, and aren’t having war with the robot-transformers?” This is because they know, that somewhere near, is the king, small and quiet…
But if someone from you, guys, will find a small and quiet lion in the plush toy section, and even buy it, then the lion actually will become happy. Being the king is good too, but being a favorite toy is better.
And don’t worry about the plush toy section. According to the rumors, there must soon arrive a new batch of lions, as many as seven, or even eight.
