Божьи коровки

‒ Муся, какое у тебя любимое животное?
- Божья коровка, конечно! Разве не видно?
Конечно, ещё как видно! У Муси даже на купальнике божьи коровки, двенадцать штук. Муся приехала с мамой и папой на море, учить своих божьих коровок плавать. Поначалу они немного боялись волн, и у них не очень-то получалось. Но потом научились, все двенадцать. И через неделю их было за уши не вытащить из воды, а с ними и Мусю заодно.
Но вот пришло время отъезда. Муся собирала вещи в свой чемоданчик, и тут-то и обнаружилось: божьи коровки пропали! Все двенадцать! Купальник на месте, а коровки исчезли!
‒ Ох, ‒ сказала мама, ‒ неужели я его постирала так неудачно?!
У Муси на этот счёт была другая версия. Поэтому она даже не плакала.
Долго сидели в аэропорту; самолёт опаздывал. Муся прижалась носом к стеклу и увидела, почему. Через аэродром ползла крошечная рыжая змейка, и все самолёты пропускали её. Змейка подползла ближе, и тут стало видно, что это двенадцать божьих коровок ползут одна за другой. Они деловито пересекли лётное поле и догнали Мусино семейство уже на самолётном трапе. Муся приоткрыла замочек чемодана, и коровки дружно юркнули внутрь.
Нечего и говорить, что дома все двенадцать коровок оказались на месте, на Мусином купальнике. Только вид у них был чуть виноватый. Ведь им так захотелось напоследок искупаться в море, что они чуть было не опоздали на самолёт!
‒ Ладно, - вздохнула Муся, - так уж и быть. Придётся мне записаться с вами в бассейн!

Ladybugs
- Musya, what is your favourite animal?
- A ladybug, of course! Is that not obvious?
Oh, no, it is extremely obvious! Musya even has ladybugs on her swimmers; there are twelve of them.
Musya came to the beach with her mom and dad to teach her ladybugs how to swim.
At first, they were a little scared of the waves and could not swim, no matter how hard they tried. Then, suddenly, they learnt how to do it; all twelve of them. After a week, they could not be dragged out of the water. Not even by their ears! And Musya stayed in the water with them.
But there came a time when they had to leave the seaside. Musya was packing her bags when she made a horrifying discovery: the ladybugs were gone! All twelve of them! The swimmers were there, but the ladybugs were nowhere to be found!
- Oh, - said mom, - did I really wash them out that badly?!
But Musya had her own version of how the events unfolded. That’s why she did not even cry.
They sat at the airport for a long time; the plane was postponed. Musya leaned her face against the glass and found out the reason. A tiny orange snake was slithering through the entire airport and all of the planes parted to let it through. The snake slithered closer and closer, and soon Musya could make out twelve ladybugs crawling one after the other. They determinately crossed the entirety of the landing strip and caught up with Musya’s family on the ramp leading up to the plane. Musya opened the lid of her suitcase slightly, and the ladybugs hurriedly crawled inside.
Needless to say, when Musya pulled her swimsuit out of her suitcase at home, all ladybugs were snuggled up on it. Only, they looked a little bit embarrassed. After all, they wanted to swim in the sea so much that they were almost late to the plane!
- Okay, - Muya sighed. – so be it. I guess I will have to sign up for swimming lessons with the twelve of you!
