Is It Hard to Be a King?

“Annoying”, the king shouted one morning. “Problems, questions. And I should solve them, solve. And also think about leaving a contribution in a history. Whoever wants can rule!”
A line of people who wanted the job formed quickly.
The minister who wasn’t able to get in a line now perplexedly looked at the king.
- Disperse?
- Let them. Let every single one of them rule
- Two minutes each! – said the minister.
The line scurried
- First one!
Hardly the first one sat down on the throne, as he showered questions: boarders, neighbors, ambassadors.
- What are we going to do?
- What? Where?
- Solve quickly.
- Uhm…
- Your time run out! Next!
- I haven’t left a trace in a history.
- Your fault! You have to be in a good shape!
Monarchs changed each other disciplined.
- In line, in line!
Some just got out to sit on the throne.
Others – put a stamp.
Third – ambassadors to accept.
- Accept the ambassadors. With presents.
- I want the presents! I! – people shouted from the line.
The ambassadors had been talking for a long time while five people changed on the throne.
And, finally, the most important ambassador said:
- Let me give you this modest present.
But by the they got the present there…
- Your time is out! – shouted the minister. – the present isn’t for you now. Go away, don’t delay!
- Not fair! I endured a long speech!
- Rules are rules!
The next, one who got the present, become really excited. But then he opened the box, and a puma jumped out.
- Rare animal, actually.
- What do I need a puma for?!
- Do you think, it is easy to rule? Take the puma and go away!
So, he took the puma.
But the ambassadors were still outraged, that in front of their eyes flickered, so they said a word of protest and left.
The king came back only in the evening the next day.
Tanned and rested.
- You can’t leave the kingdom for the day!
- Troublesome and ungrateful work, said the people. And how does ours do it?!
And only one was happy. When he ruled it was afternoon snack time. But he had never tried such a nice rolled wafers with cream.
